Frequently asked questions

Do my photos get uploaded anywhere?

No. Every conversion runs locally on your iPhone using Apple's ImageIO framework. The App ships without any third-party SDK and does not transmit image data over the network. See the Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.

How do I convert HEIC to JPG?

Open the App, tap Pick Photos, choose one or more HEIC photos from your library, set the target to JPG in the format row, adjust quality if you want, then tap Convert. The result sheet lets you share or save the JPG back to Photos or Files.

Why can't I select WebP as a target on my device?

Writing WebP requires iOS 18 or newer. On iOS 17, the App can still read WebP files and convert them to any other supported format, but cannot produce WebP output. Update iOS to enable WebP writing.

Will my animated GIF stay animated after conversion?

Only if the target format is GIF. Apple's image encoders do not produce animated HEIC / JPG / PNG / WebP, so converting an animated GIF to any other format flattens it to a single frame. The App shows a confirmation alert before doing this so you don't lose animation by accident.

How does the free quota work?

Free users can perform up to 10 single-photo conversions per calendar month. The counter resets at the start of each month. Batch conversions and certain Pro options (resize, GPS scrubbing, Files export) are part of the Pro subscription. You can preview features by selecting them — the paywall appears only at the point where saving the result would require Pro.

What's the difference between the subscription plans?

All Pro plans unlock the same features. Monthly is the cheapest entry point, Yearly is the best value (and includes a 7-day free trial), and Lifetime is a one-time payment that you keep forever — including future feature updates. Family Sharing is supported.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. Open the iOS Settings app, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, and choose Image Converter. From there you can pause, change plan, or cancel. You'll keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.

I bought Pro but the app doesn't show me as Pro.

In the App go to Settings → Restore purchases. This re-syncs your entitlements from Apple. If you used a different Apple ID for the purchase, sign into the same Apple ID before tapping Restore. If it still doesn't appear, email us with your Apple receipt number and we'll help.

I want a refund.

Refunds for App Store purchases are issued by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, and request a refund for the Image Converter purchase. We are not able to process App Store refunds directly.

What's the largest image the App can convert?

The App checks available process memory before each conversion and will cancel with a friendly error if your iPhone doesn't have enough headroom. Most modern iPhones handle very large RAW-ish TIFFs (50–100 MP) comfortably. For older devices, large multi-megapixel inputs may need to be closed and retried after restarting the App.

Can I use the App offline?

Yes. The App works fully offline. Network is only used for subscription verification with Apple's StoreKit when you make a purchase or tap "Restore".

How do I change the app language?

Open Settings → Language inside the App. You can pick from 25 supported languages or follow your system language. The change takes effect immediately without restarting.

Can I send feedback or feature requests?

Please do — write to [email protected]. We read every message and reply to most within a business day.
