Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 12, 2026 · Effective: May 12, 2026
1. Plain-language summary
Image Converter does not upload your photos. Every conversion runs entirely on your iPhone using Apple's built-in image processing framework. There are no user accounts, no analytics on the contents of your photos, and no third-party trackers. The information below describes the only data the app touches — almost all of it stays on your device.
2. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Image Converter iOS application ("the App"), published by Alpdigital ("we", "us"), and to this website at alpdigital.io/imageconvert. It does not apply to other apps or services that may link to or from the App.
3. Where processing happens
All image conversion, resizing and metadata processing is performed locally on your device using Apple's ImageIO and Core Graphics frameworks. The contents of your photos are never transmitted to us or to any third party as part of the normal operation of the App. The App functions fully offline.
4. Data we do and do not collect
We do not collect:
- The contents of your photos, videos, or files
- Image metadata (EXIF, GPS, IPTC) you process inside the App
- Your name, email address, phone number, or device identifiers
- Your conversion history, app settings, or selected themes (these never leave your device)
- Any usage analytics linked to your identity
- Location data
What is processed on your device only:
- Photos you explicitly select to convert
- Conversion history (up to 500 entries — file names, dates, before/after sizes; no image content)
- Your preferences (default format, quality, theme, language)
- A counter of how many conversions you've made this calendar month (free-tier quota)
All of the above is stored in standard iOS user defaults and the iOS sandbox of the App. We have no access to it. Uninstalling the App removes all of it.
What Apple may collect on our behalf:
- App Store analytics: Apple provides us with anonymized, aggregated statistics about app downloads, crashes, and country distribution. We cannot identify individual users from this data. You can opt out under Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
- Subscription transactions: If you purchase a Pro subscription, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit. Apple shares with us a receipt of the purchase (product identifier, transaction date, country code) but not your Apple ID, name, or payment method.
5. iOS permissions the App requests
iOS requires explicit permission before an app can access your photo library. Image Converter requests two specific permissions:
- Photo Library — Read Access: So you can pick photos from your library to convert. iOS shows the photo picker in a separate process; we only receive the photos you explicitly select.
- Photo Library — Add Photos: So we can save converted photos back to your library when you choose that as the destination.
You can review or revoke these permissions at any time under Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Image Converter.
6. On-device storage
- Temporary files: While converting, the App writes intermediate output to the iOS temp directory. These files are subject to iOS's normal temp-file cleanup and are typically removed when you exit the result sheet.
- Preferences: Stored in the App's UserDefaults container (sandboxed to the App).
- History: A JSON list of your most recent 500 conversions is stored in the same UserDefaults container. It records source/target format, original file name, before/after sizes and a timestamp — never the image content itself.
7. Subscriptions and purchases
Pro subscriptions and the Lifetime upgrade are sold through Apple's in-app purchase system (StoreKit 2). Your purchase
is associated with your Apple ID, not with our service. We use Apple's Transaction.currentEntitlements API
to check whether your device has an active entitlement; we never see your Apple ID, email address, or payment details.
You can manage, pause, or cancel your subscription at any time via Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device.
8. Third-party services
Image Converter ships without third-party SDKs. There is no advertising network, no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no social-login SDK, and no third-party billing SDK in the App binary. The only system services it talks to are Apple's own frameworks (ImageIO, PhotosUI, StoreKit, Foundation).
This website (alpdigital.io) is served as static HTML/CSS and does not set tracking cookies.
9. Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us at the address below and we will investigate.
10. Your rights
Because we do not collect personal data about you, there is generally nothing for us to disclose, correct, or delete on request. Specifically:
- You can delete all data the App stores on your device by deleting the App.
- You can clear conversion history at any time via History → trash icon.
- You can revoke photo library access via the iOS Settings app.
- You can cancel subscriptions through Apple at any time.
If you live in the EU (GDPR), California (CCPA / CPRA), the UK, or other jurisdictions with similar laws, you have certain rights regarding any personal data we process about you. Because we operate without server-side accounts, those rights generally do not produce data to return — but you may still contact us and we will confirm what, if any, information we hold.
11. International users
The App is intended for global use and is localized into 25 languages. Because no personal data is transmitted off your device by us, no international data transfer of your personal data occurs through the App itself. Apple's standard App Store and StoreKit practices apply to the purchase flow.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision. Material changes will be flagged with a prominent notice. Continued use of the App after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
