Privacy Policy
This is the privacy policy for the iOS app Video to Mp3, published by alpdigital. We wrote this in plain language because privacy is the whole point of how the app is built.
1. Information we don't collect
We do not collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any identifying information.
- Your videos, audio files, or any content you import or convert.
- Your IP address, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, or location.
- Usage analytics, crash reports, or behavioural metrics.
We can't share what we never collected.
2. Information stored locally on your device
To make the app work, the following data is stored on your device only — never sent anywhere:
- Your converted files. Saved into the app's sandboxed Documents folder so you can find them later in the History tab.
- Your preferences. Default output format, quality, language, etc. — stored in iOS user defaults.
- Conversion history records. File name, date, format, size — stored in a local database (SwiftData). You can clear it any time from Settings.
- Free-export usage counter. A small integer that tracks how many free exports you have used so we can offer the right upgrade prompt at the right time.
If you delete the app, all of this data is removed by iOS.
3. Permissions we ask for
The app requests two iOS permissions, and only when you trigger an action that needs them:
- Photo library. Needed when you tap "Photos" to pick a video to convert. We use Apple's standard PhotosPicker, which limits us to the asset you specifically selected.
- Apple Music / media library. Needed by Apple's media frameworks to read audio out of the video you imported.
You can revoke either permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy.
4. Required Apple APIs
To comply with Apple's privacy manifest rules, we declare that the app uses the following APIs strictly for the reasons listed:
- File timestamp APIs — to display dates next to your conversion history.
- User defaults APIs — to remember your preferences between launches.
- Disk space APIs — to warn you before a conversion would fill your device.
None of these are used for tracking.
5. In-app purchases
If you upgrade to Pro, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit. We never see your payment details. Apple may share with us a transaction identifier and the product you bought so the app can unlock the right features. Apple's privacy policy applies to that transaction: apple.com/legal/privacy.
6. Children
The app is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect any data from children — because we do not collect data from anyone.
7. Changes to this policy
If we ever change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and revise the language. Material changes will be highlighted in the app's About screen.
8. Contact
