Summary: MediGuard stores all your health data locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or sell any personal health information.
1. Information We Collect
MediGuard is designed with privacy as a core principle. Here is what we collect and don't collect:
Data stored locally on your device (never sent to us):
- Medication names, dosages, and schedules
- Medication history (taken, skipped, missed)
- Blood pressure readings
- Vaccine records
- Profile information (name, date of birth)
Anonymous analytics data (sent to Firebase Analytics):
- App screen views (e.g., "Home screen opened")
- Feature usage events (e.g., "Medication added", "Taken button pressed")
- Subscription events (e.g., "Paywall shown")
- Crash reports and performance data
Analytics data contains NO personally identifiable information, NO medication names, and NO health values.
2. How We Use Information
Local health data is used exclusively to:
- Display your medication schedule and reminders
- Send local notifications on your device
- Show your blood pressure history and trends
- Track your medication compliance rate
Anonymous analytics are used to:
- Understand how features are used to improve the app
- Identify and fix bugs
- Measure subscription conversion
3. Data Storage
All health data is stored using SwiftData on your iPhone. The data is encrypted by iOS using Data Protection. Data is NOT backed up to iCloud unless you have enabled iCloud backup for all apps on your device.
4. Third-Party Services
MediGuard uses the following third-party services:
- Firebase Analytics (Google): Anonymous usage analytics. No personal health data is shared. See Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
- Apple StoreKit: In-app purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We do not see your payment information.
5. Children's Privacy
MediGuard is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Parents can use the app to manage medications for their children — all such data remains local on the device.
6. HealthKit
MediGuard may integrate with Apple HealthKit in future versions. If/when HealthKit is used, HealthKit data will not be shared with advertisers or used for marketing purposes, in accordance with Apple's HealthKit developer guidelines.
7. Your Rights
Since all your health data is stored locally on your device:
- Access: You can view all your data directly in the app at any time.
- Deletion: Delete individual records in the app, or delete the entire app to remove all data.
- Export: Export your medication history and blood pressure data as CSV or PDF directly from the app.
8. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures:
- All local data is protected by iOS Data Protection encryption
- No health data is transmitted over the network
- Firebase Analytics uses HTTPS for all communications
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through an in-app notification. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
